What replacement changes
A full replacement includes a new frame, new glass and new hardware. It can also change the way the window opens where there is enough clearance for the new arrangement.
Sliding windows stay within their tracks and do not swing into the room. Casement windows open on side hinges. Tilt-and-turn hardware adds a ventilation position at the top of the sash.
Danny measures the opening and checks the surrounding render, tiles or stone before anything is ordered.
Aluminium, PVC and glass
Aluminium windows suit larger glazed spans where strength and slimmer frames matter. PVC windows provide firm closing and insulation for many bedroom and living-room windows.
Glass is chosen separately. Heat, noise, safety and security do not always call for the same pane build-up or coating. The double-glazing page explains sealed units, solar-control glass, low-emissivity coatings and other glass choices.
Choosing aluminium or PVC does not decide which glass is needed.
Removing and fitting the window
Access affects how the old frame comes out and how the new glass reaches the room. Surrounding render, tiles and stone may need making good after removal.
The quotation should state the frame material, opening style, colour, glass and installation work. It should also identify removal of the old frame and any making good included in the price.
One window or work in stages
A single window can be replaced without committing to the whole property. Larger projects can be completed in stages, though frame colours and visible sightlines need to remain consistent if later windows are intended to match.

When the existing frame can stay
A stiff handle, failed lock or sliding window that drags may be a hardware or alignment problem rather than a reason to remove the frame. Misting between the panes can also be dealt with by changing the sealed glass unit when the existing frame remains sound.
The repairs service covers these faults. A hardware repair restores operation but does not improve the insulation of an older aluminium frame without a thermal break.
